Windows clamav gui5/7/2024 ClamTk allows manual or automatic updates to be configured for ClamAV's virus definitions. The history selection enables reviewing the results of previous scans and quarantined files. In 2017, GHacks reviewer Mike Turcotte-McCusker noted a high rate of false positives returned by PUA-inclusive scans. ClamTk can be configured to scan recursively, including all subdirectories; use whitelists; scan for potentially unwanted applications (PUAs); exclude hidden files; or ignore large files over 20 MB. The ClamTk interface allows scanning of single files or directories. Early releases of ClamTk included version 3.08 running on Ubuntu 8.04, version 4.08 running on Ubuntu 9.04, and version 4.30 on Ubuntu 11.04. ClamTk is dual-licensed under the GNU General Public License (version 1 or later) and the Artistic License. The interface has undergone significant changes over time, with recent versions differing greatly from early releases. New features have been added, and the presentation of the interface has changed. Originally written using the Tk widget toolkit, ClamTk was later rewritten in Perl, utilizing the GTK toolkit. The project began in February 2004 and remains under development by Dave Mauroni. ClamTk provides both on-demand and scheduled scanning. Licensed under the GNU General Public License and the Artistic License, ClamTk is a free software graphical interface for the ClamAV command-line antivirus program, designed specifically for Linux desktop users.
